Ann Nguyen
President & Founder
Ann Nguyen holds a B.S. in Neurobiology from Stanford University (Class of 2020) and is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Community Health and Prevention Research (CHPR) at the Stanford School of Medicine (Class of 2021). She has done extensive research in the field of neuroscience, volunteers at the Cardinal Free Clinics, and is President of the Asian Pacific American Pre-Medical Student Association (APAMSA). She founded A Little Joy Initiative, Inc. while attending James Logan High School in Union City, California, where she graduated in 2016 as Valedictorian and a National Merit Scholar. Her charitable work was then recognized by the Catholic Diocese of Oakland, California and featured in the Mercy Project video series of the Jubilee Year 2016.
Susanne Mensik
Board Member
Susanne Mensik is a Master Sergeant in the Washington State Air National Guard as a flight medic. She is currently stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base and lives in Spokane, Washington. Over her 10 years on Active Duty, she has traveled all over the world for various missions and earned her B.S. in Management Studies from the University of Maryland University College. Susanne was honorably discharged from Active Duty in 2017 and joined the Washington State Air National Guard as a traditional Guardsman. She attended Eastern Washington State University and is currently a full-time Guardsman.
Sam Kwong
Board Member
Sam Kwong is a Master's student at Stanford University studying Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. He grew up in Palo Alto, graduated from Gunn High School and received his B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford. He plays the violin and has performed for senior citizens during the holidays. Throughout childhood and college he was a nationally ranked fencer. He represented Stanford as a varsity athlete and led the team as a captain. As both a mentor to young fencers and a coach to student programmers, he has helped many individuals achieve their potentials over the years.
Don Le
Board Member
Don Le is currently employed by the County of Santa Clara as a Forensic Social Worker. He helps one of society’s most vulnerable populations at the intersection of mental health and criminal justice. Prior to his current work, Don worked with at-risk youth and non-minor dependents of the Child Welfare system. He is a graduate of UC San Diego and has a Master’s of Social Work (MSW) with a specialty in Child Welfare from California State University – East Bay.
